For speakers · PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom

Use klapp in PowerPoint, Teams and Zoom.

No add-in. A link in your slides, a tab you share.

klapp has no add-in for PowerPoint, Teams or Zoom. It runs in a browser tab. You paste a link into your slides or switch to the tab, share it in the call, and the room joins with a code or a QR. This page shows the steps, and what you do not get.

Free to set up with a sign-in · No account for the room · No install for anyone

01 / in PowerPoint

Paste the link, or switch tabs

Put a klapp link on a slide, or keep the big screen open in a browser tab next to the slides. In the talk you click the link or change window, and then you come back to the slides.

02 / in Teams and Zoom

Share the tab

Share the browser tab or window with the big screen, the way you share anything else. People in the call join with the same code as the people in the room.

03 / from your phone

Steer from the phone

In an event your phone is the remote: start the next poll or quiz, show the result, end the event. The slides stay where they are.

In PowerPoint, step by step

1. Make an event before the talk. Open playklapp.com/arrangement and sign in with Google or Microsoft. Give the event the title of the talk, and add the poll or quiz you want. The event gets a six-digit code.

2. Copy the links from the event page. The page has a section called “links for your slides”: one link for the code, one for each poll and quiz, and one for the question wall if you have Q&A. Each has a copy button. In PowerPoint, add the link to a slide as a hyperlink on a word, a button or a shape.

3. Add the QR slide. The same section has a download for a QR slide, a PNG in 16:9. Put it on the slide where you want the room to join. It carries the code and the address playklapp.com/join.

4. In the talk, click the link. The link opens the big screen in your browser. It does not play inside the slide, so switch to the browser window and come back to the slideshow after. The big screen only shows things: it waits until you tap on your phone. Every link opens in the same window, so each click replaces the last.

If you would rather not leave the slides, open the code link in its own window before you start and flip to it when the time comes.

A single quiz, with no event? Open playklapp.com/host on the laptop, type a topic or hand over your deck, and read every question before the room sees one. The host page has a link that opens the big screen in a new tab, next to your slides.

In Teams and Zoom

Share the tab with the big screen. Open the big screen link in a browser tab, then share that tab or window in the call. What you share is the same screen a room would see. The question and the four answers are also on every phone, so a person in the call who cannot see your shared screen can still play.

The room joins with the code or the QR. Everyone opens playklapp.com/join in a browser and types the six-digit code, or scans the QR. It works on a phone, a PC or a Chromebook. Nothing is installed and nobody signs up. Put the code in the chat as well, so people in the call do not have to read it off the shared screen.

Keep the remote QR off the shared screen. The QR that makes your phone the remote works once, for five minutes, and whoever scans it steers the event. Show it only on the laptop screen you do not share, or hide it again after scanning. The QR slide for the room is a different thing, and is made to be shown.

If you share a single window, pick the browser window with the big screen. If you share the whole screen, the room sees everything on it.

Steering from your phone

On the event page, press the button for using your phone as the remote and scan the QR with the phone you want to steer with. From the phone you start the next poll or quiz, show the result on the big screen, and end the event. The phone shows what is on the big screen now and what your next tap does.

The remote is part of an event. A single quiz started from the host page is steered from that page.

What does not exist

An add-in for PowerPoint, Teams or Zoom. There is nothing to install in any of them and nothing in their app stores. Slido and Mentimeter list those integrations, and the rows are on the Slido page and the Mentimeter page, with the places where they do more.

A poll or quiz inside the slide. The link opens a browser window. The slideshow does not show the question itself, and there is no way to embed it. Plan for one switch of window each time.

A second person with their own access. One key steers the whole event, and the remote QR gives the same key. There is no co-host and no separate link for a moderator.

An event that runs all day. An event ends by itself after two hours without activity, and after twelve hours at the latest. Split the day into sessions in one event, one session per talk. The event page is made for a laptop, and the phone is the remote.

Proof from outside. No speaker has told us they ran klapp from PowerPoint, Teams or Zoom, so there are no quotes here. The steps above are what the pages in the app do. Try them with a colleague before the day. klapp deploys often, and a running game is saved and usually goes on after a restart, but that is not a promise.

More, and what it costs

A quiz round inside one talk is on klapp for presentations. A whole conference day, with one code per talk, is on the organizer page. The prices are on pricing.

A link in the slides. A tab in the call.
