Whoever called the meeting has two problems a list of quiz tools does not solve: two hundred people cannot make two hundred accounts, and the questions have to come from somewhere. Both are answered below, with what we have actually measured.

About 30 seconds, captioned, no voice-over. The real app with test data: the speaker uploads the slides, the room asks from their phones, and the speaker gets an answer suggestion quoted from the slides. Try it with your own slides.
An all-hands is the large-room case, and it is the one we measured. On 13 September 2026 we put 10 240 synthetic clients into a single game against production: 10 240 answers registered, none lost, the server at 65% of half a CPU core. The run and its four attempts that day are on the load test page.
Synthetic means scripted connections, not colleagues. One session, one region, WebSocket only, and the fallback transport was never load tested. More on what the number does and does not show in a Kahoot alternative for large groups.
Nobody in the room installs anything or signs in. Players open a six-digit code in a browser. A name field exists, and the server uses it only when the host has said the room is adults only, which is not the default. What is and is not kept is on privacy — worth reading before you put a work meeting into any tool.
A hybrid meeting plays the same way. Share the big screen in the video call, and people in the room and at home join with the same code on their own phones. The question and the four answers are on every phone too, so a team with no shared screen can still play.
The host signs in only for more than a quiz. A quiz needs no account. Signing in with Google or Microsoft gives an event — one code and one QR for the whole meeting, steered from your phone — for free, and Q&A, where the room asks and klapp drafts answers from your own slides, paid per session. Prices are on pricing.
A quiz round inside a talk rather than a whole meeting — a lecture, a keynote, a training session — has its own page: klapp for presentations. A conference day or a kickoff with several talks is a job for the organizer page.
No licences to buy per head, no seats to provision, no IT ticket to file. Players need nothing but the code read out from the screen.
The host types what the quarter was about and a round of ten questions is written in a minute or two. They read every question and drop the ones that do not fit.
Answering fast earns nothing, so the fastest thumb in the company does not win the meeting. The host can wait for everyone instead of counting down.
Mentimeter's own guide for large events tells organisers that joining takes longer than they expect, and to keep a wifi backup. Read 11 September 2026. That warning applies to us too.
Kahoot told its investors that the work meeting is the product. Its Investor Day 2022 transcript reports 50 million participants in work sessions over twelve months, and describes weddings and Friday fun as lead generation for the work product. Read in Kahoot's own PDF, 11 September 2026. We are not disagreeing with that reading — we found it convincing enough to build for the same room.
Mentimeter's annual report puts a size on the work audience. Its 2024 report, read in full on 10 September 2026, gives 9.3 million presentations, 180 million participants and 68 000 work domains — and free cash flow of minus 11 MSEK, its first negative year since 2017. A room this large is not a niche, and it is also not free to serve.
Those are their figures, from their own documents, with the date we read them. We publish nothing about a competitor we have not read ourselves, which is why this section names two companies and not six.
The phrases for this room have no measurable search volume. In Bing Webmaster Tools' keyword research for the three months 20 June – 17 September 2026, read on 20 September 2026, trivia game for meetings, icebreaker quiz work and team building quiz each had too little data to show a figure at all. That is not low volume; it is nothing.
So this page is a hypothesis, not a response to demand. It is built for two other jobs: to be the thing worth quoting when someone asks how to run a quiz at an all-hands without licences or prep, and to answer the question for a visitor who arrived from somewhere else entirely. Ranking on these phrases is not the goal, and a plan that promised it would be lying.
What would show the hypothesis was wrong: nobody quoting it, and nobody starting a game from it. Both are measured — see the note about how visits are counted on privacy.
klapp deploys often. Since 8 October 2026 a running game is saved and usually goes on after a restart, but that is not a promise. If the meeting cannot be moved, try the room on the day, keep the session short, and read the load test for what has and has not been measured.
No company uses this yet. The number of companies running klapp at an all-hands is zero. There are no logos on this page and no quotes from customers, because there are no customers.
It does not replace anybody's team-building supplier. A twenty-minute quiz is twenty minutes of a meeting, not a programme, and it will not fix a room that does not want to be there.
It says nothing about Slido, and only what Mentimeter published itself. Comparisons need a source we have read. Where we have one, it gets its own page with dates on every figure — see klapp and Kahoot compared.
And nothing is procurement-ready. The data processing terms are published, but there is no security review yet. The one paid thing, Q&A, is bought by the host with a card through Stripe, per session; there is no contract or purchase order to sign. What is free today, and the catch, is on the free page. How a round actually plays is on the quiz page.
