A Christmas quiz for the last lesson before the holidays.

Every student answers. Nobody signs up.

01 / on the board

Open it on your computer

On the computer connected to the board or projector, press «Play the Christmas quiz». A six-digit code and a QR code come up straight away. «Open the big screen» puts the questions in large type.

02 / at the desks

Students join

Students scan the QR code, or go to playklapp.com/join on a Chromebook, a PC or a phone and type the six digits. It runs in the browser they already have.

03 / the round

Think, then answer

Everyone answers the same question at once. Holding the answer down shows how sure you are: sure and right earns extra, sure and wrong loses points. Being quick earns nothing, so the careful reader is not behind.

In the classroom and on Teams

Part of the class at home. Share the big screen in the Teams or Google Meet call and post the six-digit code in the class chat. Students in the room and at home play the same round.

Try it alone first. Open the quiz on your computer and join with your own phone. You see what the class will see, and it takes two minutes.

A quiz about what you taught. Open /host and type a topic and an age, such as «Christmas around the world for 10-year-olds» or «A Christmas Carol, stave one», or hand over the lesson. You read every question before the class sees it. Your own quizzes are free as a trial (50 questions when you sign in, 10 without), with an hourly limit. The numbers are on /free.

Send it to a colleague

The teacher next door may want it for their class too. Each link opens this page.

Four questions teachers ask

Do students need an account or an app? No. Students open playklapp.com/join in the browser on a Chromebook, a PC or a phone and type the six-digit code. Nothing is installed and nobody signs up.

Does it work when the class is on Teams? Yes. Share the big screen in the Teams or Google Meet call and post the code in the chat. Students at home and in the room join with the same code.

Is anything kept about the students? No names and no answers from single players are kept after the game. The details are on /privacy.

What age is the free Christmas quiz for? The five free questions are about Christmas songs, films and traditions, and suit older students best. For a younger class, type a topic and an age when you make your own, and the questions are written for them.

Before you rely on it

Each student needs a device. A Chromebook, a PC or a phone with a connection, and the room needs one shared screen. Students can also share a device in pairs.

Five questions is a warm-up. For a whole lesson, make your own quiz on the topic you taught. More for teachers is on /for/teachers.

Run through it once before the lesson.

Five questions. The whole class answers.
