klapp and Mentimeter

What each costs, and what each does.

This page is for the person who puts polls, a quiz or Q&A into a talk, knows Mentimeter, and wants to see what klapp does differently. Every cell about Mentimeter is taken from Mentimeter's own pages and dated. Where those pages do not say, the cell reads “not stated”.

The short version

Two differences. klapp has no participant limit, free or paid, and in its paid Q&A klapp drafts each answer from your own slides and shows the quote it used. klapp is paid per event; Mentimeter's paid plans are per presenter and billed yearly, or bought as a conference pack for one month. Mentimeter does more inside the presentation: many slide types, Excel and PDF exports, branding and shared workspaces.

Sources for the Mentimeter column: Mentimeter plans, with its plan comparison and its FAQ, and Mentimeter integrations, both read on 13 October 2026, and Mentimeter conference plans, read on 15 October 2026. Prices are the ones Mentimeter showed a visitor in Norway that day, in euros; it may show other amounts in other countries. The klapp column is from pricing. klapp prices are the amount charged; Cadence AS is not registered for VAT, so none is added. klapp’s euro prices are its own, tax included, sold outside Norway through Link, Stripe’s merchant of record.

When Mentimeter is the better choice

You build the whole presentation in the tool. Mentimeter has many slide types, imports your slides from Basic, and has themes and your own logotype from Pro. klapp is a round inside the slides you already have, not a place to make them.

You want many kinds of interactive slides. Mentimeter lists word clouds on the Free plan and open-ended questions in its FAQ. klapp has word clouds, open text and a 1–5 scale, and no other kinds.

You need the results in a file. Mentimeter exports to Excel, PDF and image from Basic. klapp has one HTML file per event, with no spreadsheet or PDF.

You present every week, or a team shares the work. A yearly plan per presenter fits that, and Pro has a shared workspace. klapp has one host per event.

Your organisation asks for single sign-on. Mentimeter lists single sign-on and SCIM on Enterprise; klapp has none. The event package is €29 per event outside Norway, sold through Link.

When klapp is the better choice

You give a talk now and then. klapp is paid once per event, from €12 for Q&A, and a quiz or an event with polls is free. Nothing renews.

The room is large, and you are on a free plan. There is no participant limit in klapp. The largest room measured is 10,240 synthetic clients in one game, on the load test page. No real room that size has played yet.

You want help answering the room. In the paid Q&A the room asks, klapp drafts each answer from your own slides and shows the quote it used, and you decide what goes on the screen.

You keep your own slides. The quiz runs beside them, on the screen you already present on. How a talk runs is on klapp for presentations. Using it from PowerPoint, Teams or Zoom without an add-in is on its own page.

What this page does not claim

“Not stated” means the pages we read did not say. It does not mean Mentimeter cannot do it. Mentimeter may change its prices and plans after 13 October 2026 (the conference plans: after 15 October 2026); the date at the top changes only when we have read the pages again. No presenter has told us they moved from Mentimeter to klapp, so there are no quotes here. klapp deploys often; a running game is saved and usually goes on after a restart, but try the room before the day.

Pay for the talk. Not for the year.
